The early life of Claude Lorrain

At a very early age, Claude Lorrain started exploring his painting skills. He mainly focused on landscape painting, seeking to present a view of nature more beautifully and thoughtfully. In order to make the landscape painting more beautiful, Claude used the classical concepts that often contain religious figures and classical ruins. From the mid of 19th century, Claude's poetic rendering of light was influential among the new artists.

This famous landscape painter was born in a low-income family and received very less schooling. When he was twelve years old, his parents died. And then, he traveled to Rome, where he was trained as an artist by Agostino Tassi. Claude was with Goffredo Wals in Naples for two years, where he mainly gave his interest and focus to landscape painting. Claude went back to Nancy after leaving Tassi in 1625. And in 1626 -27, Claude settled in Rome. In the future, Claude joined the painter Academy of St, Luke to expand his art career. He died in November 1682.
