John William Godward
John William Godward – a beautiful artist
John William Godward was born on 9th August 1861 in Wilton grove. He was an English painter from the neoclassicist era. His father was John Godward, and his mother was Sarah eboral. His father was an investment clerk at the law life assurance society in London. They had five children, and John was the elder one.
Early life
In 1887, in the royal academy he exhibited, in 1921, he moved to Italy with his model, that's when his family cut off all the relations from him. In 1921, he returned to England, and after one year, he died in 1922 and got buried in Brompton cemetery in west London.
Famous artworks
Most of his artwork portrays women. Usually, those women portray showcase women in a classical dress who poses in a landscape background. Many newcomers mistake him as pre- raphaelite as his most works portray beautiful women posing; he loves using vibrant colors for his painting. All of his paintings are vibrant and colorful. He was a high Victorian dream, and he romanticized the world. He soon made himself famous with the women's paintings in a vibrant background. It seems the vibrant painting he creates to escape from the reality of his life, which was a troubled one. But he never included those with his paintings. He created so many masterpieces like-

He was not accepted well due to his painting; there are many unique qualities to his work that are only appreciated today. He was also labeled as 'little master,' a Dutch term that means an artist who is good in his work and does best from all others. In his whole career, he didn't produce any other artwork but this. It only portrays beautiful women posing across marbled and landscaped backgrounds.
